Ada Hoffmeisterová
the one behind it all

„I’m Ada Hoffmeisterová — Martin’s daughter, Adolf’s granddaughter, and the one who looks after the daily life of our restaurant. I’d like to think I inherited some of my family’s talents, and I believe hospitality is one of them. I studied at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, and here at Dvůr Hoffmeister I’m putting what I learned into practice, step by step. Our kitchen draws on both Czech and French traditions — we cook honestly, with seasonal ingredients and respect for the craft. I’m proud that our work has been recognised by the Gault&Millau guide and the Czech Best Restaurants guide.”

Karel Rosenheim
the chef who gave Dvůr Hoffmeister its flavour

„What fascinates me most about cooking is the creativity — the endless combinations of flavours, ingredients and ways of presenting a dish. At Dvůr Hoffmeister, we cook Czech and French cuisine with a modern touch, though we’re not afraid to experiment beyond traditional genres. Our goal is simple: every guest should leave happy.”

Karel Rosenheim has led the kitchen at Dvůr Hoffmeister since June 2022. He built his craft from the ground up — after training in Prague, he gained experience at the well-regarded restaurant Na Kopci and at Cowboy’s restaurant, part of the Kampa Group, where he developed his instinct for quality ingredients and bold flavours.

At Dvůr Hoffmeister, Karel created a concept that feels naturally at home in the setting of a historic country farmstead: traditional Czech and French dishes made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, presented in inventive and playful ways. His kitchen lets the natural flavour of each ingredient shine, paired with rich, carefully crafted sauces — an approach that has earned recognition from the Gault&Millau guide and the Czech Best Restaurants guide.

Beyond the seasonal carte, Karel and his team prepare degustation menus with wine pairing, a weekday business lunch and themed menus for special occasions. See the full offering on the Our Menu page.

Our History
the ones who started it all

The tradition of wine lovers and fine food experts has continued in our family for three generations. Adolf left us the artistic atmosphere and the drawings of famous faces on our signature club plates. Martin brought back a passion for wine from France — along with the title of chevalier du tastevin. And Ada brings both legacies together today, in a restaurant where Czech and French traditions meet a modern approach to ingredients.

Adolf Hoffmeister

Adolf Hoffmeister, a Czech painter, writer, caricaturist, co-founder of Devětsil and a close friend of Voskovec and Werich, as well as of Picasso, Dalí and Beckett, gave the restaurant its unique atmosphere. The drawings of famous personalities he knew in person adorn our signature club plates. So when choosing your table, make sure you sit next to your favourite — and enjoy your meal in good company!

Martin Hoffmeister

Martin Hoffmeister, a film director, chevalier du tastevin and once a Prague hotelier, was the one who brought Dvůr Hoffmeister back to life in its current form. From crumbling buildings, he created a warm, elegant and welcoming space where you’ll be happy to settle in and enjoy every pleasant sensation and experience to your heart’s content.

Summer Terrace
from spring to autumn

In the warmer months, we open our covered terrace overlooking the courtyard and horse stables — the perfect spot for a weekend lunch or dinner at sunset. The terrace seats 32 guests. During the summer season, we recommend booking ahead.
