““I am Ada Hoffmeister, the one who takes care of the daily operations of our restaurant and also the daughter of Martin and granddaughter of Adolf Hoffmeister. Hopefully, I caught some talents of my ancestors and I believe hospitality is one of them. I graduated from the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, a Swiss hotel school, and in Dvur Hoffmeister, I am trying to bring my knowledge into life, step by step.”
the one, who cooks
The kitchen is led by Jan Kaplan, who presents Czech cuisine in a modern way.
Jan Kaplan started his career somewhat untraditionally. He successfully graduated from social anthropology. He started cooking in his twenties and after experiences in the US and London (Giraffe, the Connaught Hotel – Gordon Ramsay holdings, Harvey Nichols 5th Floor restaurant) he stopped at the legendary restaurant U Kastelána in Brno. For several years he has successfully managed the kitchen of Pavillon restaurant in Brno, but in the autumn of 2017 he moved to Prague, and we are happy that he chose Dvůr Hoffmeister as his next workplace. Cooking is his passion, in his spare time he writes a foodblog called Oh My Chef.

the ones, that started it
The tradition of lovers and experts in wine and good food has continued in our family for the third generation. And because we understand ingredients, we can enjoy delicious food and appreciate quality wine, we decided to offer this experience to you in our restaurant as well. Adolf Hoffmeister, a Czech painter, writer, caricaturist, co-founder of Devestil, and a good friend of Voskovec and Werich, but also of Picasso, Dalí and Beckett, gave the restaurant its atmosphere. Yes, the drawings of famous people he knew in person adorn our club plates. Make sure you choose a table with your favourites, so that you dine in good company!
- Martin Hoffmeister
Martin Hoffmeister, a film director, a chevalier du tastevin and a former Prague hotelier, took care of the renovation of Dvur Hoffmeister to its current form. From the decaying houses, he built a warm, tasteful environment where you are happy to sit down and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and amazing dishes.
